Esses Estate
WINE TASTING

Kaikōura Bespoke Tours are excited to share this wonderful local success story with guests. When you book a tour with us you can add one of our amazing Wine Tastings to your itinerary.

Esses Estate is a premium grower-producer creating sophisticated, aged sparkling through traditional French methods, used for making Champagne. Each vintage showcases the essence of the season and the estate on which it is grown. Esses is a family owned and operated estate, with 25 year old vines, with current releases being produced off a mere 2 hectares.

Esses Estate is only one of a handful of grower producers that specialises solely in Méthode Traditionnelle, with the aim to grow the perfect sparkling.

Kaikōura has a stunning microclimate for naturally growing Méthode, with long ripening periods that naturally create beautiful sugar and acid balance, with expressive fruit flavours. Esses Estate is surrounded by the stunning snow-capped Seaward ranges; grown on stoney soil under spectacular skies with subtle cooling by southern sea breezes. Esses, meaning multiple of the letter "S", pays homage to the environment in which it grown.
